Privacy Director directs and develops the organization's privacy strategy, including policies, procedures, and initiatives. Ensures all business and data management processes reflect privacy requirements and comply with laws and regulations. Being a Privacy Director incorporates regulatory changes into the organization's processes. Plans and directs privacy training programs and communications. Additionally, Privacy Director ensures that compliance monitoring, auditing, and remediation are effective. Leads research and prepares communications in response to privacy-related events or consumer, government, or media inquiries. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Privacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Privacy Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for meeting all applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.. To meet requirements, oversee and manage, where necessary, all compliance requirements from Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA). To manage, write and maintain policies and manage the development of policies and procedures to comply with the law and various privacy regulations and best practices. To work closely with IT security by coordinating privacy with security practices and oversee the privacy portions of the annual SOC and tri-annual HIPAA audits. To manage the review, coordination, maintenance and organization of privacy agreements and requirements with third parties. Manage the preparation of responses for legal inquiries. Accountable for the management and the direction of the Compliance Department, and to assist Chief Operating and Privacy Officer in any other areas and projects, as needed.
