Privacy Director directs and develops the organization's privacy strategy, including policies, procedures, and initiatives. Ensures all business and data management processes reflect privacy requirements and comply with laws and regulations. Being a Privacy Director incorporates regulatory changes into the organization's processes. Plans and directs privacy training programs and communications. Additionally, Privacy Director ensures that compliance monitoring, auditing, and remediation are effective. Leads research and prepares communications in response to privacy-related events or consumer, government, or media inquiries. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Privacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Privacy Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • The Privacy Program Specialist will conduct research and risk reviews, gather and analyze documentation from various internal and external sources, and assist with growing operational tasks necessary to implement or enhance the organization’s privacy program.

    Job duties

    • Perform and present research related to state and federal laws and regulations
    • Conduct formal and informal privacy impact assessments to understand the risk landscape and to target mitigation steps
    • Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to document business processes and requirements
    • Communicate privacy decisions to the broader cross-functional team, and ensure decisions are properly implemented
    • Work in partnership with new product development teams to integrate privacy into product design
    • Review and ensure the company's compliance with applicable regulations, as required

    Essential skills

    • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree. Business Administration preferred
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial services industry, including 1 years’ experience in compliance within consumer privacy compliance (preferred)
    • Demonstrated experience successfully driving program, process, and change management concepts in a dynamic and complex operating environment
    • Strong Proficiency in performing research related to state and federal laws and regulations and assisting in the composition or responses to written findings
    • Efficient, well-organized, able to effectively prioritize to manage a variety of duties
    • Strong business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences
    • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Familiarity with financial institution core systems is preferred (such as Fiserv/DNA)
    • Ability to work strategically in a collaborative environment
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues with minimal direction
    • Ability to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal and consensus building skills with the ability to build trust and foster a collaborative spirit
    • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (required)
    • Certification/License: International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) certifications or industry equivalent (preferred)

    Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 (HYBRID)

    Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $21.00 to $24.50 hourly annual bonus
