Privacy Manager implements and enforces the organization's privacy strategy, including policies, procedures, and initiatives. Ensures all business and data management processes reflect privacy requirements and comply with laws and regulations. Being a Privacy Manager plans and implements privacy training programs and communications. Manages compliance monitoring, auditing, and remediation. Additionally, Privacy Manager leads research and prepares communications in response to privacy-related events or consumer, government, or media inquiries. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Privacy Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Privacy Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This position is remote. However, candidates may be required on occasion to visit the local office when/if needed.  


    The position requires a strategic leader, with proven critical thinking skills, who can partner with other marketing, business development, administrative, and executive team members to achieve business objectives. Candidates must have a client service focus, a strong understanding of the regulatory practice offerings of a large law firm and possess strong writing and communications skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence to help successfully navigate a large and multi-faceted practice group. 

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • BA/BS degree in marketing communications, business or related field 
    • Eight years of experience in marketing/business development in a professional services environment 
    • Proficiency with MS Office products to include Word/Excel/Power Point 
    • Experience and ability to plan strategically, execute tactically and have a client service focus 
    • Strong writing and presentation skills 
    • Ability to analyze data and use multiple sources of information to develop solutions and recommendations 
    • Self-starter and leader with accomplished critical thinking skills and a thorough understanding of the value proposition 
    • Excellent communication and data analysis skills 
    • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment 


    Preferred Requirements: 

    • Graduate degree or a JD  
    • Prior experience practicing law in a large law firm 
    • Experience working with the employment and compensation or data privacy and cybersecurity practices at a law firm


    What will your day look like? 
    As a Sr. Marketing Manager supporting our Employment and Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity practice groups, you will identify, drive, and oversee new business development opportunities and marketing initiatives to achieve the revenue growth objectives of the firm. Specifically, you will work with lawyers across both teams to ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy for these distinct offerings.  


    You will develop strategies for practice group growth and expansion of new and existing client relationships. You will mentor and provide professional guidance and direction to junior team members on a regular basis and work with our centralized marketing support teams to create impactful digital campaigns, proactively support media relations and PR pitches, craft multichannel content assets and more.


    You will ensure global and national marketing initiatives are being executed with strategic cooperation of your sub-practice groups. You will work with the events team to manage practice events, sponsorship activities, advertisements, speaking engagements and similar activities. You will also assist in targeting and reporting on client-centric activity and impact.

    Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements 
    Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. 


    The expected annual pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City is $146,352 - $217,705 per year. If hired to work in San Francisco or Palo Alto the expected annual pay range is $152,715 - $227,170 per year. If hired to work in Los Angeles, San Diego, or Seattle the expected annual pay range is $139,989 - $208,239 per year. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
