Shield Private Security is seeking a reliable and professional security officer to be assigned to our patrol division to provide armed services for our clients. P.O.S.T. or PC832 is preferred. We do require working nights as well as all weekends and holidays. You will have the opportunity for higher pay and some cases we do offer allowance for travel.

Security Guard Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor company’s property and maintain a safe and secure environment
• Watch for signs of crime or disorder; investigate disturbances
• Act lawfully at all times in direct defense of life or property
• Act as a consistent presence to deter criminals
• Evict violators of rules and regulations
• Report any suspicious/unusual occurrences to supervisors, authorities and management
• Patrol premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter
• Monitor and control access of building entrances and vehicle gates
• Monitor alarm systems and video cameras
• Perform first-aid and or CPR if needed (must possess a CPR-First Aid permit)

Security Guard Requirements and Qualifications

• All applicants must have current certifications issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (Guard card, Exposed Firearm Permit, etc.) - REQUIRED
• High school degree or equivalent (PREFERRED)
• 1 year of work experience as a security guard or other relevant position (PREFERRED)
• Must be able to read, write and speak English – REQUIRED
• All applicants must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays - REQUIRED
• Basic computer skills for reporting and communications (PREFERRED)
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment (PREFERRED)
• Vast working knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols – (PREFERRED)
• Willingness to comply with all laws and institutional regulations at all times - REQUIRED
• Keen surveillance skills and detail orientation (PREFERRED)
• Integrity, professionalism, and character beyond reproach – REQUIRED
