We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Tax to lead a private client's tax department. The Director of Tax for Private Clients will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for our high-net-worth individuals and families. This role requires a deep understanding of complex tax issues, exceptional leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering personalized solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients .
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive growth and profitability within the private client tax department.
Provide visionary leadership to a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for high-net-worth clients, building and maintaining strong relationships based on trust and integrity.
Understand clients' financial goals, objectives, and concerns, and provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to meet their needs.
Tax Planning and Advisory:
Lead the development and execution of comprehensive tax strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities while optimizing their overall financial position.
Provide expert guidance on complex tax issues, including estate planning, wealth transfer, investment structuring, and international taxation.
Compliance Oversight:
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all required tax returns, including individual, trust, and partnership tax returns.
Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
Team Development and Mentorship:
Recruit, train, and develop a team of tax professionals, providing ongoing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to support their growth and development.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the private client tax department.
Risk Management and Quality Assurance:
Implement robust processes and controls to mitigate tax-related risks and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Conduct regular reviews and quality assurance checks to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in our tax services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or JD strongly preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in tax planning and compliance, with a focus on serving high-net-worth individuals and families.
Deep technical expertise in individual, trust, estate, and partnership taxation, including familiarity with complex tax structures and strategies.
Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional client service and driving positive outcomes for clients.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
