This will include process improvements and modifications, new project development and implementation, preparing capital projects, and troubleshooting existing process problems. This person will also assist with process safety and management of change for the site. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Follow all EHS requirements and sustain the strong safety culture.
Ø Work closely with plant personnel to optimize plant processes.
Ø Collaborate with plant management on capital projects to ensure proper process design and equipment specification.
Ø Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and systems.
Ø Perform process design for new projects and improvements to existing equipment.
Ø Participate in a currently active project to replace the plant’s Distributed Control System (DCS) with a new, state-of-the art version.
Ø Advance the plant technology by implementing batch recipe automation using the new DCS.
Ø Identify process improvements and conduct trials to maximize efficiency, improve quality, and reduce operating costs.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
v 3 years of Process Engineering experience. (Chemical plant experience is a plus.)
v Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
v Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint.
v Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
v Detail oriented with ability to track and drive actions and assignments to completion.
