The Process Engineer II role is responsible for the provision of chemical process engineering support to the operation, and maintenance of a condensate stabilization and atmospheric distillation process unit, refrigerated LPG systems, as well as design, construction, commissioning, and startup of new units and projects.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Technical Lead. Serving as the Technical resource for day-to-day operations and troubleshooting of the facility.
Ø Optimizing Plant Operations. Monitoring the operating parameters of the facility, initiating trending of pertinent data, and leading refinement efforts toward optimizing plant operations for reduction of operating costs and maintaining/improving unit throughput.
Ø Project Support. Assisting with the evaluation, justification, and development of project scopes and their implementation.
Ø Maintenance Project Support. Assisting with the development of scope and planning for maintenance windows and other facility outages.
Ø Collaborating with company HSSE professionals to assure that safe and environmentally sound work practices are being developed and followed in operations and projects within the splitter facility.
Ø Processes and Procedures. Developing and deploying processes, systems, tools, and procedures to aid in the execution of operational and maintenance work activities in the facility.
Ø Personnel Development. Assisting leadership with mentoring of junior Process Engineering employees.
Ø Process Safety Management. Supporting and participating in MOC, PHA, and Hazop reviews.
Ø And other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Ø Degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
Ø B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering may be considered if extensive experience in the processing industry is shown. The capabilities described herein will still be met.
Ø 3 years' experience in Process Engineering. Experience will have been gained in actual day-to-day operations of unit operations described.
Ø Experience in operation of crude oil refining unit operations including flash towers, LPG stabilizers, and atmospheric distillation will be preferred. This experience will have been gained in actual day-to-day operations of unit operations described.
Ø Experience with operation and maintenance of low temperature refrigeration systems and refrigerated LPG storage will be preferred.
Ø Mastery of communication with all levels of the organization including: management, engineering professionals, plant operators, maintenance personnel, suppliers, and contractors using the English language
Ø Skillful in the use of HYSYS process simulation software.
Ø Skillful in Microsoft Office suite of software.
Ø Skillful in plant operations, trending, and reporting from Distributive Control Systems (Delta V in particular)
Ø Ability to teach/coach others in process and procedures.
Ø This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
Ø This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
