Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Process Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Job Description:

    Job Summary/Objective:

    Under the general direction of Project Managers, the Design Engineer Level 2 serves as a member of a cross- functional project team. As a member of a cross-functional project team, the role has responsibility to independently execute all design tasks and initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    The primary responsibility for this role is to ensure proper development and completion of electrical designs and schematics that conform to safety and quality standards, as well as meeting all design cost and schedule objectives. This position will be required to support multiple projects of varying complexity. Additional responsibilities include training Level 1 Design Engineers and advising PMs/others on technical design requirements.

    Requirements:

    1.   Associate’s degree or two-year technical degree/certificate in an electrical-related program, or have at least 4 years of equivalent experience.

    2.   Minimum 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer Level 1 or equivalent experience.

    3.   Completed required training and mentorship

    4.   Travel required

    Essential Functions:

    1.   Interpret detailed specifications for automation and control systems.

    2.   Research, understand, and specify/apply commercially available components for use in a total system.

    3.   Control panel design:

    a.   Using UL 508A, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, and NEC design standards.

    b.   Determine Heat Loads, SCCRs, Voltage Separation, Panel Sizing & Ratings.

    c.    Circuit design to include breaker/transformer/motor load/wire/terminal sizing.

    4.   Develop detailed system documentation for the construction and installation of control panels.

    5.   Develop complete electrical drawing packages.

    6.   Edit existing drawing sets with feedback from Project Managers and Controls Engineers.

    7.   On-site support for design reviews, consultancy, installation, start-up, and troubleshooting.

    8.   Ensure compliance to company standards and client requirements.

    9.   Executes functional tests after control panels are completed to ensure quality.

    10. Control panel verifications (FAT/SAT documentation).

    11. Provide training to Design Engineer 1 individuals

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    1.    Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical

    2.    Firm commitment to efficiently delivering solutions.

    3.    Effective written and oral communication skills.

    4.    Work efficiently with minimal supervision.

    5.    Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently with minimal support.

    6.    Demonstrate proficiency with PCs, operating systems, and MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, MS Project).

    7.    Demonstrate client focused attitude.

    8.    Full understanding of project scope, budget, and schedules.

    9.    Full understanding of company standards and fully complies with them.

    10. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

    11. Demonstrate knowledge in the following processes:

    a.   Packaging Line Control

    b.   Packaging Equipment

    c.    Water/Waste Water processes

    d.   Batching

    e.   CIP

    Physical Demands:

    Must possess ability to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to visit various client and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Finger dexterity needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard and to operate standard office equipment. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although prolonged standing and walking and the ability to climb ramps, stairs, and ladders may be required when traveling or on client site. May occasionally require the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 40 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
