Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Process Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     The Process Engineer II will provide engineering service toward the design, improved operation of manufacturing equipment and processes used in the production of materials and products. Will work cross-functionally with Process, Operations, Maintenance and Safety. This position is located in Weatherford, OK.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor the quality, productivity and equipment reliability on the manufacturing line and lead continuous improvement process. 
    • Developing and documenting process operation standards, including identification and deployment of SPC opportunities. 
    • Ensure production lines operate within established parameters. Determine main cause of process variation and drive corrective action.
    • Improving the cost of quality by reducing product waste, improving the utilization of capital equipment, and optimizing productivity.
    • Providing equipment design and specification, including project justification documentation for cost and quality impact.
    • Preparation of data used in obtaining authorization for capital expenditures and assisting in the specification and installation of process equipment.
    • Assist in training production operators.
    • Provide technical support for outside requests- including safety and environmental departments, other manufacturing sites, sales, marketing and research and development.
    • Identify operational performance characteristics indicative of success, design and perform testing to confirm results.
    • Collaborate across boundaries between Miraclon and external suppliers with focus on solving customer problems.
    • Performs other assigned duties as required.

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or an equipment focused multidisciplinary degree.
    • 5 years of experience in product development
    • Process or industrial engineering experience is a plus.
    • A strong desire to manage projects and processes from conceptualization to implementation.
    • The ability to drive process solutions by working with leadership in the other relevant engineering, maintenance, and production groups.
    • Statistical Process Control knowledge.
    • Demonstrated hands on problem solving – looking at a new problem in a new area, and just figuring it out.
    • Experience in multi-disciplinary product design including developing solutions with external suppliers and partners.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn equipment operating systems (electronics, firmware and software in electromechanical devices) and develop new machine behaviors with them.
