Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Process Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Summary: Seeking a Process Engineer with solid experience in the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) industry, focusing on high complexity manufacturing processes.
Job Requirements:
Possess excellent problem-solving skills
Experience working with customers to identify and suggest DFx opportunities
Solid process engineering experience in the PCBA industry in a high reliability environment; contract manufacturing experience a plus
Familiarity with all component types - SMT, Thru-hole, Press Fit etc.
Knowledge of processes such as SMT Pick and Place, Manual & Auto Insertion for Thru-hole, Press/Router operations, Solder rework etc.
Experience with RoHS and familiarity with IPC-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship standards
Strong leadership and coaching/mentoring skills
Must demonstrate flexibility, self-direction, and self-discipline to plan and accomplish objectives within deadlines
BS Degree in a related Engineering discipline required
Preferred Skills:
Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification
SMTA Certified Process Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
Develop robust, error-proofed manufacturing processes that are simple to perform
Ensure customer and company standards are being met
Analyze performance data regularly to lead improvement initiatives on quality, cost, delivery
Support Manufacturing to ensure daily production targets are met
Review customer Product Change Notices (PCN?s) ensuring all changes are properly captured and accounted for
Prepare Equipment Work Instructions, detailed reports etc. as required
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) launch activities
Attend conferences, seminars etc. as required
Provide training to other Engineers, Technicians & Operators as needed Support development of safe workplace adhering to Quality Management System Travel to suppliers & customers as required.
