As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will manage apply scientific knowledge, engineering knowledge, mathematics, and ingenuity to complete assignments related to a specific technical field or discipline. Integration and support of a technical line support team is the primary focus of this role. This is an opportunity based in Austin, TX. What You'll Do PROJECT MANAGEMENT Plans and conducts small- to medium-size assigned projects within engineering specialty requiring conventional types of plans, investigations, and/or equipment. Coordinates and monitors activities/projects. Reviews plans and monitors status of implementation for those assigned to project. Makes judgments regarding quality of implementation within discipline. Employs contingency plans to recover from schedule slippage and financial overruns when appropriate, e.g., tracks actual expenditures compared to projected cash flow for own project. Estimates and coordinates resources needed (materials, budget, time and people) to accomplish assigned individual tasks, e.g., coordinates work with operations, technicians, and other engineers. Prepares contingency plans and budget for assignments. Jointly responsible for achieving project targets in support of business objectives. TECHNICAL/DESIGN Anticipates future directions. Benchmarks internally and externally. Recognizes changes in the environment and present resources as indicators of future problems and opportunities. Minimum 2 years industrial experience. Exposure to manufacturing processes as it applies to high-speed, high-volume, fully automated, multi-component assembly operations. Experience troubleshooting processes to find solutions related to availability, performance, and quality. Regulated industry experience to document all actions involving changes to established processes. Preferred Exposure to Six Sigma principles, Green Belt preferred. Understanding of DMAIC process to find/implement root cause remediations. Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles.
