Process Engineering Technician provides technical support to engineers to ensure production goals of the organization are met. Provides assistance related to the review of existing and design of new manufacturing equipment, processes, and plants. Being a Process Engineering Technician may suggest or implement equipment purchases, modifications or calibration changes that could result in improved productivity or reduced costs related to production. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Process Engineering Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Process Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.   • Provides engineering support for all aspects of plant needs to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and schedule by performing the following duties.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Assists with the development of safer work practices through product design and functionality.
    • Implements new product design within the schedule and budget parameters.
    • Identifies any problems with the implementation or available resources that may affect the schedule or budget and communicates such problems accordingly.
    • Analyzes the risks of a new design or process and communicates results to the project engineer.
    • Provides support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design.
    • Develops and maintains procedures and processes that support core machine technologies.
    • Interfaces with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities, except when overseeing a particular project. The Engineer technician would ensure all employees involved in the project are using all Safety measures and that the project is being executed effectively.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
