Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. TRANSPORTATION MANAGER

  • Job Summary: This is a transportation position responsible for supervising daily routes given to drivers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, oversight of DOT drivers, route management, and compliance with government regulations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide a main point of contact for over the road drivers.
    • Assure all routes depart and arrive to customers on time.
    • Supervises the daily work and safety of drivers, including adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes, and providing safe and efficient customer service.
    • Ensures that the drivers meet the standard compliance of the local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, etc.) and ensures that electronic logs are kept current and accurate.
    • Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting.
    • Keeps open communication channels with drivers by answering questions and explaining McEntire policies and procedures.
    • Coordinates efforts with the Compliance Supervisor to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.
    • Performs the duties of associates supervised and other related duties as needed (and as qualified).

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Background in Transportation or Logistics or Supply Chain preferred
    • Supervisor experience preferred
    • 2 years experience maintaining Fleet DOT compliance
    • Working knowledge of FMCSA Department of Transportation Driver Regulations
    • Working knowledge of FMCSA equipment Maintenance/preventative Maintenance regulation
    • Minimum of one year supervisory experience, strongly preferred
    • Bachelor's/Associates degree and 2-4 years of transportation experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft office
    • Driving experience preferred, but not required
    • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
