  • We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Produce Manager to oversee all aspects of our produce department in our grocery store. The Produce Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of fresh fruits and vegetables are consistently available to our customers. This role involves managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness and organization, supervising staff, and implementing strategies to maximize sales and minimize waste. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for fresh produce, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the daily operations of the produce department, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating inventory to ensure freshness.
    • Monitor product quality, freshness, and appearance to meet company standards and customer expectations.
    • Implement merchandising strategies to maximize sales, including product displays, signage, and promotions.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor shrinkage, and implement measures to minimize waste and loss.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of produce.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with produce suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and competitive pricing.
    • Collaborate with other department managers and store leadership to coordinate promotions, sales events, and cross-departmental initiatives.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and best practices related to produce management.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selection, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or complaints.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a grocery store or produce department.
    • Knowledge of produce varieties, seasonality, and quality standards.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Familiarity with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
    • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
    • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Physical ability to lift and move heavy boxes and operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in business management or food service is a plus.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

    Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
