Job Description/Summary:
KNOE-TV is looking for a content-driven creative newscast producer to join our award-winning news team. The producer should have the ability to find and share relevant news with the audience through creative storytelling. If you're curious about local, national, and international news, the producer role will allow you to plan, write, and execute a newscast.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work alongside newsroom staff to produce assigned newscasts.
- You'll be responsible for story selection and writing stories using available video, interviews, graphics, and other resources to convey what is happening in a way that viewers can understand.
- Clearly communicate with production staff, anchors, and reporters.
- Write stories in a fair, concise, and accurate manner without errors or typos.
- Keep the newscasts produced on time and act as a decision-maker in the production control room.
- Edit video/audio for air
Qualifications/Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be creative, extremely detail-oriented, and have very strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, time management, and communication skills.
- Positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under deadline pressure.
- Able to work well with a team.
-Flexible to work mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Able to sit and stand for extended periods. Able to climb and work on ladders and comfortably lift 30 pounds or more.
- Computer literacy is a must.
- Strong grasp of visual design, grammar, and spelling.
- While previous television experience is preferred, it is not required.
