Marine Engineering Director:
JOB SUMMARY
Oversees and manages the repair and maintenance programs covering Company's fleet of vessels.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Manages voyage repairs.
-Manages preventative maintenance program covering Company's vessels.
-Manages contracted service for designated equipment or repair.
-Fills in for General Manager during his or her absence.
-Coordinates with General Manager to schedule periodic dry-docking.
-Attends and supervises all ships' dry-docking.
-Cooperates with Crew Agent in the movement and placement of vessel officers and personnel.
-Supervises on-going survey program.
-Responds to emergency calls after normal working hours as necessary.
-Prepares and submits annual repair and maintenance budget and standards.
-Prepares and submits five-year long term budget with annual revision update.
-Prepares expense budgets for engineering and marine requirements.
-Develop and lays out bid specs for periodic dry-docking of vessel.
-Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering
EXPERIENCE: Seven to ten years engineering/shipyard. One year as Chief Engineer
of Motor Vessels, sailing at sea.
LICENSE: Chief Engineer's License of Motor Vessels. Valid Local Driver's License and Valid Passport.
TRAVEL: Various Company locations.
