    JOB TITLE & BREIF OVERVIEW

    American Roofing & Metal, a large, multi-location, regional roofing contractor, is seeking to fill a new position of Director - Purchasing & Warehouse Management. This position reports directly to the CFO & Executive Vice President, and will interact on a routine basis with the Executive Team (President, two VP’s of Operations CFO & EVP).

    This position will be responsible for leading and managing the company’s Purchasing Strategy for materials, establish trackable process for managing the reservation and return of the large number of company owned equipment, assuring routine maintenance is scheduled and performed, manage the primary Louisville Warehouse and coordinate with the branch Warehouses.

    OBJECTIVE of this ROLE

    The primary objective of this role is to help improve the company’s bottom line via:

    • Assuring the daily flow of materials in and out of the warehouse occurs efficiently
    • Primary point of contact for carriers
    • Manage via the smallest practical staff needed to provide the service required
    • Assurance that all materials are tracked accurately in the Inventory Management System
    • Assurance that all activities of both purchasing and warehouse operations are accurately inputted to our systems.
    • Cultivation of Strategic Supplier Relationships
    • Negotiation of Pricing and Terms

    EXAMPLES of DUTIES

    • This position requires someone who can “roll their sleeves up” and work in the warehouse during the normal “morning rush” to assure the crews are able to get what they need so they can get out to the Job Sites.
    • Updating the system with the mornings inventory transactions, receiving into the system material deliveries to the warehouse, and booking POs via the system for issuance to our suppliers.
    • Working with Rental Equipment suppliers to reserve and return job site equipment and dumpster rentals.
    • Managing a small staff of warehouse helpers and coordinators.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 10-years of purchasing experience, preferably in the building materials industry
    • Strong Computer Literacy
    • Track Record of “Getting Things Done”
    • Capable of leading via influence across company departments
