What We're Looking For

We are seeking a talented Product Design Director to lead our Product Design team, driving design excellence across our offerings including banking, card issuing, payments, merchant acquiring, loan origination, and more. This role requires the ability to manage a team, prioritize work effectively, and collaborate with senior stakeholders as well as a strong background in UX/UI design. By juggling your time between leading 2 Designers and doing hands on work, you will help Cross River with the ambitious goal of improving Usability Scores by 10x.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Product Design team, setting clear goals and priorities to align with business objectives.
• Provide insightful critiques and guidance to enhance design quality, focusing on usability, brand identity, engagement, and retention.
• Embed the practice of User Research in all our product development.
• Implement and refine design processes, ensuring they are efficient and effective in meeting both user needs and business goals.
• Deploy usability metrics to continuously track and improve the quality of our digital offerings.
• Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement with direct communication, mentoring designers and promoting professional growth through leading by example.

Qualifications:

• A portfolio showcasing at least 8 years of experience in design having successfully launched engaging digital products in the B2B or B2B2C space, with a focus on UX/UI.
• Proven experience in managing a design team and collaborating effectively with cross-functional senior stakeholders.
• Expertise in Figma and other design and prototyping tools.
• A working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS with an emphasis on how these technologies impact design.
• A strategic thinker who can balance design excellence with practical business considerations.

• Experience designing FinTech products
• Demonstrated success in implementing Objectives and Key Results

Salary Range: $180,000.00 - $220,000.00
