Product Design Manager manages and coordinates design, development, and enhancement of new and existing products/product lines. Evaluates and ensures design feasibility and design optimization. Being a Product Design Manager ensures team meets project milestones and completes projects within established timeline. Evaluates issues, provides resolution, and communicates to management. Additionally, Product Design Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Product Design Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Product Design Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Summary Manage the pre-installation readiness, installation, and completion of all trades and projects to include one or more of the following: Flooring, counters, solid surfaces, cabinets, and blinds. The Field Manager will ensure all the work is completed with the highest quality per builder and customer expectations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and stoop for 8 hours. Minor lifting and carrying may be required. Work Environment Work performed at construction jobsites and office. Skills & Qualifications Level I Clean driving record and valid license Entry level computer skills and knowledge of basic systems and applications and use of handheld devices and tablets. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization. Ability to utilize basic math skills to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, linear feet, yardage, and square footage. Ability to read and comprehend plans, builder communications, training materials, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 1 year of experience Level II: All Qualifications in Level I plus: Must have experience leading a team or crew in a construction environment. 4 years of experience in multiple trades to include tile, wood, vinyl, carpet, countertops, and cabinets Level III: All Qualifications in Level II plus: 7 years of experience in multiple trades to include tile, wood, vinyl, carpet, countertops, and cabinets Essential Functions Level I: Shadow experienced Field Manager to learn inspection process. Manage Team and Installation process on job sites during construction. Track and manage materials while ensuring quality installations and providing a high level of service to internal and external customers. Coordinate with independent contractors to ensure work is completed timely and accurately per builder timelines and requirements on construction sites. Ensures that all safety and OSHA regulations are communicated to staff. Other duties as assigned Level II: All Functions included in Level I plus: Oversee and manage the installations to include inspections and quality control as well as how materials are measured and installed. Other duties as assigned Level III: All Functions included in Level II plus: Train new Field Managers as needed with progress reports to the Area Manager. Assist the Customer Service Department as necessary as ILG field expert. Ensure trainees exceed ILG Quality Assurance industry expectations.
