Product Development Director plans and directs the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Being a Product Development Director conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Additionally, Product Development Director develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Product Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. The Development and Public Relations Director plans and executes fundraising activities, records donations, and secures funds through grants and sponsorship methods. Responsible for coordinating and planning public relations and community development activities. In addition, responsibilities include crafting media releases and marketing material. Position requires strong grant writing skills and the ability to establish and maintain good, cooperative relationships with the news media, consumers, local community and other public-interest groups. Additional responsibilities include maintaining website management and social media marketing. The position calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, maintaining a maximum level of confidentiality, project coordination, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management including residents, staff and board of directors of Girls’ Haven.
Education, Licensure and/or Experience
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Preferred: One year of grant writing and fundraising experience.
