Product Development Director plans and directs the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Being a Product Development Director conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Additionally, Product Development Director develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Product Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. New Product Development - Creative Director

  • A Creative Director (Designer VI) is a leader within the Design organization, leading projects and teams across product areas. This role is expected to assume responsibility for design quality, design direction, and processes within the team, and actively mentor and coach other Designers.

    A Creative Directors leads and guides brand direction and may manage the team of Designers, while also managing and working with the Product Development Director to manage the careers of direct reports and conduct performance reviews and other evaluations.

    PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Create a clear path as to the design direction of the brand and brand image.
    • Identify brand goals and process pathway to meet these goals.
    • Roll out the implementation of the brand image and brand goals to all team members – Designers, Developers, Brand Managers, Marketing, Catalog, etc.
    • Create a design process that fosters innovation and creativity; and implement this process to the team.
    • Work with team members (designers/developers) to ensure that they are aligned to the brand goal, orienting, training, assigning, and coaching on a regular basis is required.
    • Meet with team members (designers and developers) on a weekly basis to review current projects and give support/design direction on these projects.
    • Updates job knowledge (for self and team) by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, and attending trade/industry shows.
    • Meets cost standards by monitoring expenses, implementing cost-saving actions.
    • Meet with Product Development Director on a weekly basis to review staff, projects, schedules, etc.
    DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's Degree in design field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 13 years of experience within the product design/development field.
    • 3D apparel software a plus.
    • Experience in Microsoft Office, with a high proficiency in Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
    • Understanding of project management strategies and practices applied to product development.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing practice and methods in the garment industry, including sewing, materials, construction layout, and pattern making.
    • Ability to effectively solve problems on a variety of issues with a solution-based approach.
    • Highly organized, self-driven, with a keen ability to know when and how to take the initiative.
    • An interest, or active participation, in the powersports industry is HIGHLY PREFERRED.
