Product Development Manager manages the staff, resources, and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Incorporates research and concept development projects and capabilities with market analysis, industry intelligence, and customer monitoring to support product roadmaps and innovate new products, enhancements, and redesigns. Being a Product Development Manager coordinates with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products meet development targets and support the organization's financial goals. Develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Additionally, Product Development Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Product Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.   • General Summary

    The Product Development Operations Manager provides global direction and alignment of process and technology to enable business growth. This role leads key strategic initiatives related to process, tools, and systems that guide the overall development, procedures, product creation process and the go-to-market (GTM) calendar.


    Essential Responsibilities

    • Drives product development operational excellence by defining standards for calendar, product timeline, and workflows for all brand and product types to ensure consistency across projects.
    • Monitors seasonal development execution, identifies underperforming areas and proposes systems/technology or process change improvements.
    • Streamlines and utilizes product data and systems effectively and efficiently.
    • Collects high-level and detailed requirements for product development process improvement. Manages requirements of data for ongoing development of appropriate processes and tools.
    • Defines and documents best practices and SOPs for cross-functional and global product development business processes. Updates and documents old or non-existent business processes.
    • Documents current and future state business processes for project initiatives
    • Drives the overall calendar and process efforts for seasonal GTM and the One Global Calendar.
    • Acts as subject matter expert for cross-functional understanding and training on product development processes, systems, and reporting, as needed. Leads cross-functional meeting including Buy Ready and New Business Tracking meetings.
    • Builds dashboards for recurring automated reporting to provide product teams and leadership quick access to data-driven insights for the product teams and leadership. Works with internal resources to implement solutions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Five (5) years of experience working in product operations department.
    • Advanced understanding of PLM/ERP system functionality.
    • Certified PMP or equivalent work experience required.
    • Able to present and skillfully negotiate to gain the support and commitment of others.
    • Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and inspire as a change agent with a passion for results.
    • Ability to influence decision making up, down, and across the organization.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

    Travel Required

    This position will not require travel.


    Base Salary: $105,000 - $110,000 yearly
    This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and location.
