Product Engineer jobs in Lancaster, PA

VAL-CO, an agricultural manufacturing plant, based in Eastern Lancaster county, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (aka Product Engineer) to design new and improved products or modify existing products of a mechanical or electro-mechanical nature.

• Converting input into a form that can be utilized by Production or presented to the customer.
• Resolving customer problems
• Maintaining existing products, processes, and specifications by instituting appropriate modifications for new applications, consistent with efficient manufacturing techniques.
• Designing products from dimensions and specifications supplied by the customer.
• Assisting in making prototypes to prove out new products or to satisfy customer demands.
• Evaluating the functional requirements and qualities of new releases prior to production.
• Working on projects that will improve the quality, life and/or function of product including design changes and/or improvements for manufacturing cost reduction.
• Coordinating the set up, running, and analysis of product tests.
• Completing the design requirements on production drawings, incorporating all pertinent information necessary to ensure accuracy and precision in the production of the product.
• Supplying sketches and dimensions to tooling design groups for layout and detail work.
• Assisting in coordinating manufacturing process activities to ensure an optimum product for the customer.

Requirements:

• BS or technical degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years experience in design or other engineering discipline.
• Possess excellent organizational skills.
• Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Possess solid engineering knowledge in mechanical systems.
• Possess computer proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD or Solid Works.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, blueprint or sketch form.

• Self-starter, capable of working very closely with multiple internal customers.
