    Job Summary

    Metro Door is seeking to hire a Product Engineer to join our high performing team and meet the demands of our growing business.

    The Product Engineer is responsible for performing all takeoffs from customer requests and develop product configuration to meet requirements.


    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Perform all takeoffs from customer requests and develop product configuration to meet requirements.
    • Generate preliminary drawings via CAD/Adobe for customer review and approval.
    • Diagnose and solve all technical issues on projects at all stages:
    1. Preliminary – work with customer and GC to develop product.
    2. Production – assist factory floor with issues regarding fabrication & assembly of product.
    3. Construction – work with GC's, technicians, and electricians to troubleshoot any site issues. Also to verify dimensions, and assist with operator/wiring issues.
    4. Post Construction – diagnose and resolve operation issues with customer.
    • Develop shop sheets from Production Orders within B1 and provide project installation drawings.
    • Support Account Management with all technical inquiries.
    • Quick problem identification, root cause analysis and resolution skills.
    • Work with new and potential customers in developing product solutions.
    • Conduct site visits as needed to review site conditions and oversee install.
    • Providing a positive company image to internal/external customers.
    • Other duties assigned by supervisor.

    Requirements

    • Ability to read blueprints and perform take-offs.
    • Ability to use AutoCad Inventor or Solidworks for 3D modeling.
    • Computer efficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP B1.
    • B.S./B.A. Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Time Management skills: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Excellent Customer Service skills.
    • Committed and flexible team player.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, technology driven, service environment.
    • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs and across remote offices.
    • The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

The work is performed in various locations, including warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, refineries and hospital settings. Employees may work with co-workers’ side-by-side with a moderate level of activity being performed. Noise levels in the work environment can exceed 90 decibels. Hearing protection may be required to perform certain tasks.
