Product Engineer is responsible for designing and developing a product/product family. Ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel. Being a Product Engineer tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Product Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Product Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Minimum Qualifications · BS in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) desired. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Familiar with material processing and Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing techniques (stamping/ injection molding / casting) · Familiar with composites, aluminum, plastics and steel · Proficiency with Solidworks · Prototyping |

Essential Functions · Prepares detailed product drawings according to assignment using a 2D/3D CAD system. · Involved in developing and modifying product designs with the Senior Product Engineer · Maintains and organizes the drawing files in the filing cabinet and on Grass America’s local area network for reference and blueprints. · Answers Grass employee questions. · Involved in product testing working with Product Testing personnel. · Attends in-house meetings as necessary to discuss current projects/project development. |
Physical Demands · Frequently sit, occasionally stand and walk. · Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components. · Hands on which can include periodically bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing ladders, stooping, crouching, and moving/lifting heavy objects. · Occasionally lifting weight up to 75lbs. · Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts that cause vibration. |
