DAYS/HOURS: Monday-Friday -- 6:30am-3:00pm

OVERTIME: Some OT required on Saturdays with shift starting at 4:00am

COMPENSATION: $29.00/hr

SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor (Forman) is under the general direction of the Plant Manager. The Production Supervisor (Forman) must perform tasks with little or no supervision, though he or she consistently keeps the Plant Manager informed of production and goal status.

Essential Functions: Production Supervisor (Forman) duties are the following:

• Determine daily production requirements and plan accordingly
• Delegate personnel to work areas
• Ensure work is completed
• Check monthly production and trends
• Review previous day production records
• Coordinate all departmental efforts to solve production problems
• Administer employee evaluations and disciplinary notices
• Train personnel
• Enforce company policies and procedures
• Schedule the daily production plan
• Reconciles monthly inventory
• Assist the General Manager with month end inventory
• Order supplies necessary for production
• Enter production number into manufacturing computer system daily
• Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement
• Participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as required

AUTHORITY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Supervisor (Forman) directly supervises the Production Supervisors. He or she is involved in the hiring, coaching, promoting, orienting, counseling, training, budgeting, disciplining, scheduling, directing, terminating, developing, and measuring performance of those employees. The Production Supervisor (Forman) directly interacts with the all areas and functions of employees and customers as needs arise.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor of Science in engineering degree. The Production Supervisor (Forman) must possess a minimum of 4 years of relevant manufacturing and engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have significant management and supervisory experience whereby cost, schedule and performance commitments have been achieved. Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing improvement processes and projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required.

The Production Supervisor (Forman) must contain extensive leadership abilities and remain even tempered. He or she must be authoritative and able to delegate work appropriately.
