Additionally, Production Assistant may require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Production Assistant works under moderate supervision. Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up and operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
- Load and unload materials into the machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate cuts and dimensions
- Learn how to monitor and inspect machine operations to ensure that they meet the required specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify the accuracy of the machined parts
- Learn how to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on the machines to ensure they operate efficiently
- Assist in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to determine the machining requirements
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to learn computer programming and machine operating software
- Ability to learn how to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Basic proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
