Title: Production Assistant
Overview: The Production Assistant will support the Inventory Control Manager by acting as a liaison between Inventory Control and Plant Operations. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work cross functionally to determine best practices to maintain accurate inventory of product.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support Inventory Control Manager to ensure raw material consumption and completed finished goods are recorded accurately in ERP software.
- Resolve work order errors by communicating with welders, fabricators, and supervisors, as needed, to identify components used to manufacture finished goods and accurately record the consumption of raw material in the ERP software.
- Complete finished goods work orders and receive completed items into inventory.
- Upon cancellation of an order, work with all department supervisors on the plant floor to locate work order paperwork and communicate with the Inventory Control Manger to discontinue the manufacture of cancelled orders.
- Prepare blanket work orders for make for stock (MFS) items.
- Perform inventory cycle counting and report results to Inventory Control Manager, as required.
- Maintain historical production files as directed.
- Identify opportunities for process/productivity improvements.
- Daily management of tasks to ensure timely completion of all work orders and projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Assist the Inventory Control Manager in processing inventory adjustments.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years of experience in an inventory role or similar role
- Attention to detail.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft software (Excel and Word)
- Strong computer skills (Great Plains) a plus
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, organize workload and meet deadlines.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read, write and do math at a high school level or higher.
- Experience with ERP systems required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing in manufacturing plant and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
