Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks that support production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Being a Production Control Clerk tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases. Additionally, Production Control Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Control Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

    Position Overview

     

    The Production Control Clerk will focus on and work as the Scientific and Technical Information (STI) Support Technician.  Serves in a dual-capacity role supporting STI Compliance and Scientific and Technical Publishing. The incumbent is responsible for providing customer and administrative support for NASA Glenn Publishing Services, and staffing the area during core business hours. The incumbent will perform other assignments and duties as required.

     

    Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities

     

    • Serves as a GRC point of contact for the STI Program and replies to customer, coworker, and management inquiries
    • Ensures compliance with and adheres to all Agency and Center STI Program Office policies, procedures, regulations, and directives
    • Serves as a resident STI specialist, assisting customers with STI inquiries via multiple intake methods: walk-in, phone, e-mail, Microsoft Teams
    • Provides direction with the STRIVES approval system to assist initiators and approvers with form completion; providing one-on-one assistance, as requested
    • Processes incoming NF1676 forms and logs entries into database and associated spreadsheets
    • Closes NF1676 forms and updates entries into database and associated spreadsheets
    • Prepares and provides reference materials (e.g., quick guides, sample forms, charts) pertaining to the STRIVES approval system
    • Processes incoming job requests for Publishing Services support on STI products including creation of workorder, coordination of services needed (Graphics, Editorial, and/or Layout), and logging of job information into database and associated spreadsheet
    • Completes monthly Performance Standards and Metrics reporting, and ad-hoc reporting as requested
    • Works in conjunction with the Center EDAA Representative, Government, and Management to increase the awareness of STI Program requirements through attendance and participation at customer meetings and other outreach presentations
    • Adheres to Agency Records Management policies and archives in accordance with current policy, including proper electronic archiving procedures
    • Understands and adheres to all applicable NASA and GRC policies and guidelines, such as the NASA Office of Communications (OCOMM) Graphics Policies and Guidelines
    • Complies with all Alutiiq Policies, Procedures, and Directives in the performance of duties under the TIALS 2 Contract.
    • Complies with all TIALS 2 Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in the performance of duties under the contract
    • Maintains regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the company
    • Completes all assigned training
    • May be required to work off-hours to meet contract requirements
    • May be required to support ATS new business activities

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    Required Qualifications, Experience and Education

    Education: Associates Degree                                                                                                               

    Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience working in an office environment providing administrative support and customer service.

    Required Skills 

    • Has comprehensive software knowledge, including but not limited to:
      • Windows PC, Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Demonstrates a strong work ethic
    • Ability to manage multiple, time sensitive tasks simultaneously with a focus on results and quality. 
    • Strong communication (oral and written), customer service, and organizational skills.
    • Exhibits professionalism when working with all levels of customers.

     

    Preferred Skills

    • Knowledge of NASA documentation
    • Knowledge of STI Program
    • Experience with STRIVES system
