Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks that support production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Being a Production Control Clerk tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases. Additionally, Production Control Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Control Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The Production Clerk enters, analyzes, and audits daily production. Checks for accuracy on pounds produced, waste, downtime and other kpi’s related to manufacturing and drive communication to the plant controller on trends and discrepancies. Performs daily production inventory control as needed and can provide support and back up to the plant controller when needed.
·Audits production reports from supervisors and machine operators daily to ensure accuracy in case counts, waste, downtime. etc.
· Work with supervisors to complete/change paperwork when incorrect or incomplete.
· Enter WIP production into Prism (ERP)
· Enter run time, downtime in prism and closing the daily schedules.
· Update production excel sheet – batches made, racks made, broken blades, waste, etc. to analyze and looks for manufacturing trends.
· Updating VOC tracking excel sheets for environmental reporting.
· Be Back up to receiving product in prism when the warehouse is unable to.
· Assist in preparing the weekly performance report
· Updates production models for changes in boxes, film, etc.
· Updating weekly tracker spreadsheet and calculator tool to help predict trends in production waste and determine potential company savings.
· Participate in daily performance reviews with production team members.
· Audits production packaging reports from supervisors and machine operators daily to ensure accuracy in case counts, waste, downtime. etc.
· Performs daily production reporting.
· Serves as backup to the plant controller in performing the month end snapshot.
· Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards.
· Participates in activities related to Marzetti Operational Excellence.
· Prepares spreadsheets for co-manufacturing shipments.
· Receives co-manufacturing daily production.
· Reconciles all co-manufacturing activities and corrects discrepancies as needed.
· Receives inventory in co-manufacturing warehouse and relives inventory as needed.
· 1-2 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food-related industry.
· High school graduate or equivalent required
· Proficient in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word and Excel.
· Detail oriented, accurate and skilled in problem solving.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to escalate concerns and share ideas in group settings
Works primarily in an office environment, with 25% or less time in a manufacturing environment, where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Requires some lifting of moderately heavy items such as file boxes. Will be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may periodically be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level in the office is moderate and loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
