Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks that support production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Being a Production Control Clerk tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases. Additionally, Production Control Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Control Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Essential Duties:
• Collect daily production including production output, work hours, manpower, etc.
• Publish production reports for weekly/monthly staff meetings.
• Manage CN part changes – CN alert, CN communications internal/external.
• CN info management – participate in internal/external CN weekly meetings, and track upcoming CNs.
• SAP Material Master management – create part numbers and maintain info.
• Create/maintain PSA (PO) and maintain source list in SAP.
• Reconciliation of supplier PO pricing discrepancies
• Monitor incoming 830/862 for brand new parts daily and/or weekly for parts.
• Create part numbers in MES.
• Set up and maintain MES CNs for barcode scans and SR messages.
• Monitor SAP backlog and drive resolution.
• Publish monthly closing report – Inventory, Adjustments, GR/IR
• Monthly reconciliation of retro payment to suppliers (AP)
• Material history research for obsolescence or gain/loss items.
• Perform SAP materials transactions to support the Materials Dept daily operations.
• Provide input in OEM Capacity management system when notified.
• Follow up with ERP team for SAP system improvement from a user’s standpoint.
• Generate continuous improvement ideas
• Support pilot-build activities
• Support annual build-out
• Participate in physical inventory
• Support/perform special projects as necessary.
Education / Skill / Experience Requirements:
4-year college degree required and major in supply chain management desired. Same field internship experience desired.
Must be effective in oral and written communication, computer proficient, and detail-oriented.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) required; SAP experience desired.
