Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks that support production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Being a Production Control Clerk tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases. Additionally, Production Control Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Control Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Day-to-day
- Create and edit manufacturing routings
- Generate programs for laser operations
- Review manufactured part prints
- Check production inventory and forecasted inventories
- Transfer stock between departments
- Communicate with other departments about material transfers
- Communicate with supply management on purchased parts and stock availability
- Update daily and weekly reports using Excell and other MS office tools
- Occasionally draw and model simple parts for shop
- Troubleshoot part requests from engineers
- Troubleshoot laser programs and manufacturing routings
