JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Quality Control plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance within the marine industry. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in quality management, regulatory compliance, implementation, and leadership. The Director of Quality Control is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control, from developing and implementing quality policies and procedures to leading a team of quality assurance professionals. This position will work primarily with the Engineering Team and the Customer Service team for collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

2. Establish Quality Control Standards:

• Define quality control standards for all stages of the marine manufacturing process, including design, production, and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality control measures into product development and manufacturing processes

4. Manage Supplier Quality:

• Establish criteria for evaluating and selecting suppliers based on their quality assurance capabilities.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to quality requirements.

5. Lead Quality Improvement Initiatives:

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Utilize quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

6. Provide Leadership and Training:

• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the quality control team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the quality awareness and skills of employees across the organization.

7. Liaise with Regulatory Authorities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and certification bodies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and proactively implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Extensive experience (typically 8 years) in quality management roles within the marine industry.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Proven track record of implementing successful quality management systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
