Production Control Director manages the overall strategic and tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Director establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Production Control Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Role Highlights

    We are seeking an experienced Director of Production to lead our dynamic team and oversee all production operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in apparel manufacturing, with specific expertise in embroidery, screen printing, and the latest decoration technologies. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, embracing lean manufacturing principles, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.


    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties by be assigned.         

    • Oversee the daily operations of our production facility, ensuring all activities align with our quality standards and production goals.
    • Lead and manage a diverse team of over 180 employees, including pickers, embroidery operators, screen printers, planners, and supervisory staff.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
    • Responsible for the leading, training, development and measuring the performance of the associates within the department using acceptable production metrics. When appropriate, taking the necessary corrective actions on a timely basis in accordance with company policies.
    • Maintain and optimize the operation of Tajima embroidery machines, M&R screen printing equipment, and stay abreast of advancements in DTF and DTG technologies.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and processes to keep the facility at the industry's cutting edge.
    • Responsible for the preparation and evaluation of production reports on performance and progress and taking corrective actions when necessary.
    • Implement workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising safety or integrity of product or staff.
    • Develop and implement training programs to ensure the team's skills are up-to-date with industry standards and equipment advancements.
    • Continuously seeks to enhance production performance by integrating new techniques, trends, equipment, products, or technology to drive ongoing improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with the planning and management teams to forecast production needs, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery of products.

    Requirements

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
    • Proven experience in apparel manufacturing, with a strong background in operating and managing large-scale embroidery and screen printing facilities.
    • Familiarity with Tajima embroidery machines, M&R screen printing equipment, and knowledge of DTF and DTG technologies.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team of 180 employees in a production environment.
    • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and a track record of implementing process improvements.
    • Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in both areas. 
    • Strong analytical and capability for informed decision making. 
    • Innovating and creative approach to problem solving. 
    • Proven track record of achieving maximum results with impeccable follow-though.
    • Promotional product industry experience is a plus.

    Education and/or Experience  

    • Bachelor's degree (B.A) in Business Administration, Operations Management, Textile Engineering, or a related field. 
    • Minimum of 10 years of management experience in apparel manufacturing or a similar industry.

    Computer Skills  

    Demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.  


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

    May be required to have a valid driver’s license and meet Vantage Driver Approval requirements.
