Production Control Manager manages the day-to-day tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Manager establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Monitor individual and departmental performance. Conduct and or oversee that meaningful Individual Performance Reviews are completed on-time.
    • Assist in employee development, including motivation, training and discipline.
    • Review various management reports, monitor daily activity, and develop and use internal measures to track quality, productivity, efficiency, expenses, and other critical issues.
    • Oversees and or administers the employee time-tracking and labor balancing tasks to assist with accurate job costing and payroll transactions.
    • Uses problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and expedient solutions to machining problems.
    • Ensure that the work of the department/work center is well integrated with the work of other
    departments and work centers such that the overall process serves customer needs and is accomplished in an efficient manner.
    • Develop and support a team environment within the work center/department. Involve employees in departmental planning, setting goals and deadlines. Engage staff in continuous improvement of work processes, internal and external customer service, and overall product quality.
    • Ensure all departmental employees know and follow the appropriate Quality Assurance Procedures.
    • Conduct periodic “self-audits” of the department to track compliance. Notify the Quality Department if changes in procedures are needed, and work with them to develop and implement revised or new procedures.
    • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all
    control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and
    procedures.

    Experience

    Required
    • 3 - 5 years: CNC Machining experience.
    • 3 - 5 years: Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • 5 year(s): Must have knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials and processes.
    • 3 - 5 years: Knowledge basic Lean manufacturing principals such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Process Improvement.
    • 5 year(s): Must have experience working in a supervisory position.
    Preferred
    • 3 - 5 years: Work experience in the Aerospace Industry.
