Production Control Manager manages the day-to-day tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Manager establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Summary: Under general direction of the Kitchen Manager, to be responsible for a donut shop operation, to include the production of quality baked goods according to stringent deadlines, based on a precise knowledge of all of the company outlined recipes.


    Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Must have open availability and reliable transportation.
    • Must speak fluent English and have the ability to train staff in English; other languages highly desirable, especially Spanish (a pay differential is available for bilingual Managers).
    • Must demonstrate mastery of the Baker I, II, III, and also Assistant Production Manager job descriptions.
    • Accomplishes restaurant human resources objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing company policies, procedures, standards and processes.
    • Accurately tabulate payroll for all back of the house staff and deliver it to the Store Manager and/or General Manager.
    • Estimates food costs and profits; adjusts and manages staff in order to achieve costs and profit goals.
    • Controls costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation.
    • Maximizes restaurant profitability by ensuring portion control; monitoring accuracy of charges.
    • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; securing revenues; developing and implementing disaster plans; maintaining security and sprinkler systems; maintaining parking lot and walkways.
    • Maintains ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, and utensil quality and placement; monitoring food presentation and service.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager, Director of Company Operations and/or Chief Operations Officer.
