Production Control Manager manages the day-to-day tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Manager establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     PRODUCTION CONTROL CLERK

    Bowhead seeks a Production Control Clerk to join our team in Chambersburg, PA. The Production Control Clerk position compiles and records production data for industrial establishments to compare records and reports on volume of production, consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production by using spreadsheets and the LMP computer program. May perform any combination of the following duties: compile and record production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures and using different word processing techniques. Additional tasks include: writing production reports based on data compiled, tabulated and computed, following prescribed formats, maintaining files of documents used and prepared, compiling detailed production sheets or work tickets for use by production workers as guides in assembly or manufacture of products. This Clerk, compiles material inventory records and prepares requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies charts production using chart, graph, or pegboard based on statistics compiled for reference by production and management personnel. This Clerk also sorts and distributes work tickets or material and may compute wages from employee time cards and post wage data on records used for preparation of payroll.
    Responsibilities:

    Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


    • The candidate will calculate types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and department production rates, using a computer, calculator, and/or spreadsheets.
    • The candidate will maintain forms and records.
    • The candidate will be responsible for expediting and or ordering and maintaining assets/parts/supplies.
    • Must possess a strong desire to provide excellent customer service solutions and interact with coworkers and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Must be motivated to perform other duties as assigned.
    • Forklift experience is required for some Production Control Clerk positions. If forklift operation is required, the candidate must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check.
    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of one-three (1-3) years’ experience in the position applied for (referenced above).
    • Must have a good working knowledgeable of Army regulations; systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
    • Must be able to pass a background investigation and gain access to military installations.
    • The position is on a federal military installation. Candidates/employees will need to drive onto the military installation to gain access to the respective building for their position.
    • Experience working at Letterkenny Army Depot highly desired.
    • Expediting experience is a plus.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer knowledge and advanced skills with the following: Internet, MS Office Suite (including MS Word, Excel spreadsheets, Outlook, etc…). Knowledge of inventory and purchase software is a plus.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
    • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

    • Often exerts similar effort in pushing, pulling and positioning parts assemblies and equipment.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:


    Securing and maintaining a Common Access card (CAC) is a requirement for all positions at this location.
