Production Control Manager manages the day-to-day tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Manager establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary

    Manufacturing Production Planning & Control work focuses on managing production to optimize the use of resources and meet production schedules and standards including:

    • Planning and controlling production schedules and coordinating with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials
    • Estimating and scheduling the human resources, tools, and equipment needed for the production process
    • Researching, evaluating, and recommending changes to production processes, systems, technology, or equipment to enhance organization's production capabilities

    Responsibilities

    • Works on problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals
    • Applies research towards the planning, design development, testing, and completion of projects
    • Impact is short-term, occasionally on medium-term goals
    • Continues building knowledge of organization and processes
    • May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
    • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience

    • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion

    • Must be able to work in production environment conditions including heat and humidity during summer months

    • Must be able to work continuous ops schedule (12-hour shift with rotating schedule)

    • Currently this is a 3 AM - 3 PM shift, 10% premium will apply to salary
