Description: The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of production and a key contributor to the ongoing success of Esbenshade’s Greenhouse. Overseeing production lines, supervising crew leaders and workers, working in the production lines when needed, all while ensuring the line is running smoothly, meeting expectations, safely and effectively. Communication is a key factor to accomplish production goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate supplies needed for completion of the current task (such as pots, tags, labels, soil, plants, seeds, etc.).
• Make sure production lines are set up, working and operating on a timely schedule.
• Survey work area daily to identify and correct any potential safety issues prior to starting.
• Coordinate placement of workers at the production line
• Inspect planted product to confirm procedures being followed.
• Verifying labels and tags match product and records.
• Maintain records of production, working closely with inventory department.
• Learning operation of equipment and machinery, including forklift and pallet jacks (willing to train).
• Working with maintenance to resolve any issues quickly, should an issue arise.
• Must be adaptable to changing priorities and additional varied responsibilities.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and observe all company polices.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience supervising employees preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Computer skills necessary in Microsoft Windows and Office programs.
• Ability to successfully communicate, lead and make good decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to define and solve problems.
• Work independently and also as part of a team.
• Provide direction and training to staff.
• Maintain clean and organized environment.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time each day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Push, pull, maneuver racks with wheels.
• Work in varying temperatures, heat, humidity, coolness, dirt, dust and moisture.

Time Requirements:

• This is a year-round, full-time position with varied time requirements depending on season.
• Saturday work and overtime are necessary during busy seasons.
