    CNC Mill Machinist II

    Qualified Production & Development provides custom machining and manufacturing services to the semi-conductor and other industries. Our Hillsboro location provides contract manufacturing services for machining and assembly with cleanroom capabilities. We are ISO certified and meet additional quality standards as required by our customers.

    POSITION SNAPSHOT

    Our team is growing, and we are seeking skilled, experienced CNC Mill Machinists to join our team. Under general supervision of the Production Manager, the role's primary responsibility will be to setup and prove out primarily new programs on 3 and 5 axis mills and provide troubleshooting and process improvement feedback to programming. Communicating with programming is a critical function for this role. Strong at machine inspection skills, attention to detail, troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently are all qualities we are looking for in a candidate.

    Schedule:

    • Day shift (Mon-Thurs, 10 hour days)

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

    • Setup 3 and 5 axis CNC mill machines including tooling and fixtures.
    • Work closely with programming to optimize programs for future production runs.
    • Deburr and clean parts as needed.
    • Provide documentation feedback to Planning and/or Engineering to ensure work instructions, blueprints, and job routings are correct for future production runs.
    • Machine maintenance.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.
    • Train coworkers.
    • Follow all safety and quality requirements
    • Other duties assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years’ experience within a job shop or contract manufacturing environment. Some CAM experience would be a plus.
    • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents.
    • Knowledge and ability to use basic measuring tools (0-6 caliper, 0-1micrometer, dial indicator, bore mics, etc.) and ability to maintain visual quality of parts. Machinists are encouraged to own their own tools or be willing to purchase them over time.
    • Ability to work in Metric or Imperial dimensions and the ability to convert them as needed.
    • Knowledge and ability to work with close tolerances (one ten thousandths).
    • Experience with Brother, Haas and Matsuura controllers is a plus. The ability to figure out a new controller if not previously used.
    • Strong understanding of G & M code.
    • Ability to frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift 60 lbs.
    • Eligible to work in the U.S.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT

    A production shop floor environment requiring sitting/standing for extended periods of time; occasional lifting of up to 25-60 lbs.; occasionally crouching or bending at the knees. Exposure to dirt and dust. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, shields etc.) may be required. May operate moving equipment (forklift) as required to perform essential job functions. General office environment with exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated, and fast paced setting.

    Workload may be unpredictable, and pressure increased during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable flexibility and adaptability. Disturbances of workflow and/or irregularities in work schedule may occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
