Production Engineering Manager manages the planning and designing of methods to improve or enhance existing programs. Oversees the analysis and review of budgets, schedules, production requirements and headcount to determine the most cost effective and efficient methods of obtaining necessary resources. Being a Production Engineering Manager develops and recommends revisions or enhancements to schedules, human and monetary resource allocations, and production requirements. Ensures projects are completed on time. Additionally, Production Engineering Manager acts as advisor to production engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Production Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Title: Project Manager

    Taku Engineering is actively seeking an energetic and knowledgeable individual to fill an Engineering Project Manager position in our Anchorage, Alaska office. The successful candidate will both lead and manage the development of design documents for multi-discipline projects for water and wastewater utilities, bulk fuels facilities, and other industrial facilities throughout Alaska. Duties include managing the development of standard professional engineering design deliverables, leading multi-discipline teams, interacting with clients, and assisting with business development activities. The position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Job Duties:

    • Independently lead concurrent multi-discipline teams.
    • Develop standard engineered deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations, testing requirements, acceptance criteria, etc.
    • Coordinate subconsultants.
    • Perform submittal reviews and approvals.
    • Provide construction support and inspections.
    • Develop project construction cost estimates.
    • Proposal development including fee and schedule estimating.
    • Professionally interact with clients.
    • Lead and mentor team members.
    • Assist with marketing and business development of Company services.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum 6 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibilities.
    • Proficiency in standard office software (Word/Excel/Projects, etc.).
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Cold region/Arctic engineering design experience.
    • Clean driving record and able to pass a drug test.

    Preferred Additional Qualifications/Skills:

    • PMP Certification
    • 5 Years Design Experience
    • Master of Science degree in Engineering
    • State of Alaska Professional Engineer (PE)
    • Business development experience

    Schedule:

    Dependent on workload, the schedule is based on a standard 40-hour work week in our Anchorage office. The work will require periodic travel to remote field locations and periodic overtime.
