The Production and Engineering BOM Specialist is responsible for generating and updating bill of materials for current and new products engineered at Freeman Boatworks. Work closely with purchasing and engineering to assist in continuous development. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Generate BOM’s for new products, assign kit numbers and option numbers utilizing engineering drawings and      specifications.
• Update current product BOM’s per Engineering Change Request process.
• Generate new part numbers, track part and PO status on parts not released to production.
• Detailed auditing of pre-determined material list ensuring high level accuracy of the BOM 
• Implement material standards and value adds through team collaboration.
• Assist with BOM inventory accountability and facilitate resolution of material issues as they occur.
• Work closely with the Engineering Team and purchasing department to coordinate the procurement and details of long lead time material for prototype boats.
• Assist in the development and drafting of standard detail drawings and other projects as necessitated.
• Demonstrate the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Education/Training

Associates degree highly recommended.

Experience and Skills

Must have experience with “Windows” based computer software and Microsoft applications.

Must be willing to learn FBW Supply software and applications.

Must be a quick learner and a problem solver with the ability to make decisions under pressure.

Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous projects.

Flexibility with ever changing demands.

Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Must interface well with other employee’s and departments throughout Freeman Boatworks as well as outside vendors and customers.

Must have good written and verbal skills necessary to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
