Production Engineering Manager manages the planning and designing of methods to improve or enhance existing programs. Oversees the analysis and review of budgets, schedules, production requirements and headcount to determine the most cost effective and efficient methods of obtaining necessary resources. Being a Production Engineering Manager develops and recommends revisions or enhancements to schedules, human and monetary resource allocations, and production requirements. Ensures projects are completed on time. Additionally, Production Engineering Manager acts as advisor to production engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Production Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Manufacturing Manager - Production

  • Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking a leader for our Production Team. This role will be asked to utilize managerial skills as well as electronic technical expertise. The position will also be responsible for evaluating appropriate staffing levels, staff management and performance, and project and process risk management, in addition to identifying and driving continuous process improvement. This is a first shift position.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Management of the Production team, which may include training, mentoring, administering, and directing employees.
    • General oversight of production processes and the production schedule.
    • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and product quality
    • Timesheet, Employee Performance Reviews, and Compensation Reviews.

    Required Qualifications

    • Graduation from an accredited high school (or valid General Educational Development certificate).
    • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in operations, production or manufacturing.
    • Ability to make independent decisions that are guided by policies, procedures, and business structure.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • High level of organization with a strong attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).
    • Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, industrial engineering, industrial technology or operations management.
    • 3 years in a leadership role preferred.
    • Diversified background with strong technical and managerial skills.
    • Previous experience managing or supervising a production team in a built-to-order manufacturing environment, preferably in the electronic assemblies (PCBA) industry.
    • Previous experience with ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of master scheduling practices and capacity analysis.
    • Knowledge of ISO9001 and IPC-610 requirements.
    • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement, TQM, and/or Lean tools including six sigma, value stream mapping, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Pareto, DMAIC, Kaizen events, etc.
