Taylor Studios is seeking for a Production Manager to maintain and sharpen the focus of a key functional group in our company. The Production Manager schedules, directs, coordinates and supervises the production staff and the fabrication operations of Taylor Studios while ensuring that fabrication is performed under optimum conditions of productivity, efficiency, cost effectiveness, quality preservation, safety and ease of operation. As a member of the management team, the Production Manager participates in strategic planning and the implementation of assigned strategic tasks. Production Manager will possess a collaborative and creative mindset, be resourceful and business-minded, and be a versatile team player with a can-do attitude.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Facilitate, contribute to, and guide the safe and effective construction, installation, and maintenance of exhibit components.
· Enforce safe work habits in the shop.
· Establish scheduling and production objectives to meet company production goals.
· Monitor the daily workflow of production and facilities maintenance.
· Maintain adequate staffing capable of satisfying company production needs in a cost effective manner. Plan and implement practices to adjust labor up or down as needed.
· Spend a considerable amount of time on the shop floor overseeing, supervising and training production department staff.
· Establish and maintain operating systems and procedures that maximize the effectiveness of both the facilities and production staff.
· Daily monitor to ensure that all goods are produced in accordance with company standards of quality and quantity.
· Establish and maintain adequate controls to minimize handling, storage, transport and damage costs.
· Ensure successful production and design team coordination and direction.
· Participate in the selection and appointment of all key personnel within the production group.
· Keep abreast of industry trends and standards.
· Develop, implement, monitor and refine metrics to evaluate the production process.
· Direct and provide the necessary resources and expertise to ensure all paperwork and reporting is completed within appropriate time requirements.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin or Organizational Management
· Minimum of 5 years management experience in a project based manufacturing environment
· Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends (when necessary) to deliver projects on deadline
· Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of business math (PL, GP, ROI, budgets and forecasts)
· Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Excellent time management, organizational skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines
· Effective communication skills both verbal and written
· Ability to give directions and adhere to quality building standards
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· Basic knowledge of building
· Working knowledge of basic business math skills
Bonus Skills
· Experience using multiple building materials
· Familiarity with power tools such as: table saw, band saw, planer, nail guns, miter saw, track saw, and other basic building equipment
· Experience with MIG or TIG welding
· Experience with forklift and moving heavy objects
· Knowledge of construction methods, LEAN, OSHA, Visual Workplace
· 3 years of experience in scenic/themed environments
