Overview

Job Title: Senior Manager, Production Test

Job Location: Melville, NY 

Salary: $150,000-$165,000/yr

Responsible for the establishment, development, implementation, and coordination of the Company’s engineering test function including policies, objectives, plans, and procedures subject to the approval of the applicable executive(s).  Supervises managers and/or supervisors in the Test Department.

Responsibilities

• Through subordinate managers and supervisors, ensures that products are tested for quality according to assigned schedules and standards.
• Directs the activities of employees engaged in testing products and identifies areas for improvement or advancement.
• Plans and implements cost effective test procedures.
• Analyzes equipment needs and recommends test equipment purchases.
• Directs operations through first-line managers and supervisors and has administrative management responsibility.
• Coordinates inventory control.
• Compiles data necessary to analyze performance and makes recommendations for changes in the testing process.
• Develops and overall plan to support the transition of products from design to manufacturing to test.
• Reviews equipment problems and hardware/product status.
• Advises the applicable executive(s) as to technical progress in the field, industry trends and legislation that affect the Test Department.
• Reviews the job performance of personnel reporting to this position and makes recommendations regarding retention, promotions, transfers, reclassifications, and salary increases.
• Analyzes cost effectiveness of all programs.
• Responsible for budgeting and resource planning.
• Develops and implements policies in accordance with Company’s goals.
• Maintains all a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science field or equivalent required.
• 8 years’ work experience in test and/or design engineering. 3 years supervisory experience.
• RF Electronics experience required.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, CostPoint a plus
