Production Manager manages operations of production areas to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Follows overall production schedules to manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals. Being a Production Manager monitors shift production metrics to identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements. Coordinates maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed. Additionally, Production Manager ensures that staff training processes, equipment, gear, and tool requirements are fulfilled to comply with health and safety regulations. Coaches teams in best practices to provide a safe and efficient work environment and resolve escalated issues and problems. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior manager. The Production Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. We are looking for highly dependable team players to join our staff as a Full-Time Food Processing Operator (working Sunday through Thursday, 10:45PM - 7:15 AM)

Food processing workers are responsible for working in the food production line, monitoring the machinery during the mixing and extraction processes to make sure our product quality standards are being met.     Here’s what you will do:

    • Gather materials from warehouse and other locations in the facility to prepare for producing food product
    • Set up, operate, and monitor equipment that cooks, mixes, blends, or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of food products, as directed by the company supplied recipes and industry standards
    • Load ingredients into tanks, mix or blend the ingredients using agitated tanks
    • Record production and test data for each food product batch, such as the ingredients used, temperature, test results, and cycle time
    • Make food processing machines adjustments to achieve the desired temperature, flow, and levels during the processing of the food product
    • Select and measure or weigh ingredients, using English or metric measures and balance scales
    • Comprehend written instructions and recipes from the company when putting together ingredients and starting a new batch of products
    • Observe gauges and thermometers to determine if temperatures of the product are within specified limits and turn valves or adjust the control system using an HMI to control the temperature
    • Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes or smells to supervisors
    • Verify that the product meets the quality standards of the company using internal monitoring systems and laboratory tests such as moisture content, acidity level, specific gravity, or other attributes and adjust the processes to achieve the desired characteristics
    • React to alarms or malfunctions of the equipment and help solve these issues when they arise
    • Inspect and physically bag the final dried product
    • Clean, wash, and sanitize equipment using water hoses, cleaning or sterilizing solutions, and rinses. Automated and manual systems will be used to accomplish these tasks
    • Consult with the supervisor or production manager with any questions or concerns
    • Inspect all equipment after cleaning to ensure cleanliness
    • Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
    • Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn

    Requirements


    • Be 18 years of age
    • English fluency a must and Spanish fluency a plus
    • High school diploma or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
    • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to work in dusty, hot, humid environment
    • Mechanically inclined
    • Background or experience in the food industry
    • Good personal hygiene. All operators must wash their hands multiple times per day and may also need to sanitize their hands periodically. Must be able to keep yourself, equipment, and surrounding areas clean at all times.
    • Positive attitude and good work ethic
    • Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
    • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
    • Forklift certification is a plus
