The Field Supervisor must be thoroughly familiar with and able to perform all aspects of landscape maintenance, irrigation management, athletic field management to include estimating, production, training, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Directly oversee crew leaders and the maintenance of all accounts daily while interfacing with the customer, subcontractor, and suppliers.
- Directly oversees 6-10 crews simultaneously.
- Develops coaching and training plans for Crew Leaders and Field Team as well as evaluating performance.
- Keep the Department Manager appraised of progress (or lack thereof) on all jobs while coordinating with the Account Manager.
- Ensures that jobs are kept to schedule and budget.
- Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Interface with customers to ensure that all customer concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
- Always promotes positive culture in the department while aligning with company goals.
- Able to create an atmosphere of cooperation and professionalism.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and achievement of the company’s annual budget goals.
- Identifies extras or additional service opportunities and reports to the Account Manager
- Ensures all enhancements are invoiced and processed correctly.
- Manages self and plans to ensure efficient operations in alignment with Roark company standards.
- Able to effectively schedule all phases of maintenance work to be accomplished.
- Assists Maintenance Crew Leaders with highly technical tasks, providing coaching as needed.
- Coordinates with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of their work.
- Coordinates with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of plants and materials.
- Ensures that company productions standards are always met.
- Ensures that equipment is operated, transported, and stored in a safe and proper manner.
- Evaluates and recommends future purchase to the Department Manager and Director of Operations.
- Ensures that vendor delivery tickets are processed properly.
- Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and SOP’s.
- Oversees the installation of enhancements as needed/directed relating to properties responsible for
- Receives and reviews all job/time reporting for accuracy and thoroughness and forwards it to Department Manager.
- Ensures that accounting receives all paperwork from the field on a timely basis.
- Ensures that company policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff.
Required Experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the green industry or experience from a service-related business with the emphasis on coaching, culture, and customer service.
- High School Diploma or GED. Preferably bachelor’s degree (Preferred within the green industry)
- Able to effectively coach, develop and train field crew leaders/crew members.
- Clean driver’s license and be insurable on company’s insurance policy.
- Preferably Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is helpful. If not, able to be resourceful in learning/managing the language barrier without using others to translate.
- Proficient in both oral and written communications
- Basic computer skills; proficient in MS Word and Excel.
