Production Painter operates a spray painter or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Being a Production Painter completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials. Follows all required safety procedures. Additionally, Production Painter may paint items by hand as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervisor/manager. May require an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. The Production Painter possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of an Area Leader & working as a member of a production team, a production team member is responsible for performing various tasks required to operate production machinery and assembly jobs; changeover presses and other machinery; perform minor maintenance and housekeeping duties; and participate in councils or task forces to support plant operations.
Production team members have the authority and responsibility to start and stop production operations, use gauges and other measuring instruments in checking production parts, complete checklists to document the status of production parts or machinery, and to directly seek assistance from all available plant resources.

MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Team members must be able to stand on concrete floor for the duration of work shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor, and use arms and hands. Visual precision is needed for visually inspecting parts for quality at production equipment speed, and for reading documents, machine gauges, and precision measuring instruments.
Production Area: The team member must be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and repetitively lift up to 40 pounds from and to height of 10-56 inches for the work shift.
Containment Area: The team member must be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force repetitively from and to a height of 10-56 inches up to four times a minute for the work shift. Must be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, from and to a height of 10-56 inches.
Team members may be hired to work in a specific area, however, all team members are expected to be able to work in all production areas in order to promote productivity, quality & safety.
