Production Painter operates a spray painter or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Being a Production Painter completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials. Follows all required safety procedures. Additionally, Production Painter may paint items by hand as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervisor/manager. May require an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. The Production Painter possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary
- Apply paint or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers
- Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surrounding areas
- Repair cracks, holes, and other surface imperfections prior to painting
- Caulk gaps and seams to ensure a smooth and seamless finish
- Install fixtures and maintain painting equipment
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
Skills:
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for painting tasks
- Familiarity with caulk application techniques
- Experience with stucco application is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines
