Production Painter operates a spray painter or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Being a Production Painter completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials. Follows all required safety procedures. Additionally, Production Painter may paint items by hand as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervisor/manager. May require an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. The Production Painter possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Safely and efficiently load rolls on the machine per roll handling procedures.
• Keep glue application and all machine settings adjusted as needed.
• Assist with filling out safety, quality, and production sheets to be turned in every shift.
• Assist stacker with keeping pallets caught up.
• Keep a clean and safe work area.
• Completely clean work area at the end of each shift.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Safety training a plus.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Ability to read and write English is required.
• Ability to read a ruler is required.
• Heavy repetitive lifting for up to 10 hour shift.
• Good coordination to hang large rolls on the machine using Big Joe walk behind movers.
• Forklift experience would be a plus for pulling pallets of paper rolls from the warehouse.
• Clear communication.
• Good teamwork .
• Be willing to work 5 to 6 days a week as needed.
